I was so happy with this purchse, it really has a lot for such a small price. As soon as I pluged it in within seconds it had not only set the time but the date too. It small enough to fit on the night stand, easy to set for the alarm,and it has great reception on the radio. I live in an area where there are so many trees you have to go outside to get cell service. I have several Sony radios and cd players in the house and they are the only brand I have not had a problem in getting great reception on FM and AM, and they have such incredible sound......

I have only had this model a few days but so far I am pretty satisfied. The only complaint I have is I really wish the display were brighter. There is no dimmer switch and I find the LED too dim.

This is the best alarm clock ever! I first discovered this clock while staying at a fancy new hotel in Mammoth. All the rooms were outfitted with this particular brand and design. Once I tried it, I was determined to get one for myself. Beyond the sleek design, it has many features that truly set it apart. First, setting the time, date, alarm is quite simple. It is also a smart clock in as much as once you set the date and your time zone, it will automatically adjust for daylight savings time and back to standard. No more springing forward and falling back!! The display is clear and bright, but not so bright as to disturb your sleep. The alarm sound is even pleasing but will nonetheless rouse you even from a deep sleep. The snooze function is also a nice feature. There are many other features to this clock that I can not mention in this review - battery back up, date display, radio, alarm indicator, snooze indicator, etc, etc. It is definitely beyond what I expected. And when you consider the price, it is truly a good value and an overall great product. It's got it all: design, funcionality, value! Get.It.Now.

Great alarm clock. I love the easy way to change the setting of the alarm (just move a small lever instead of having to push two buttons at the same time as in traditional alarm clocks). The radio stations are very clear, no background noises. The time is automatically set! Just choose the time zone you live in.. Wonderful, especially for the really low cost.

It's a clock radio that works just like it should. I can't get too excited over such a simple device but it is quite a bargain for $11.00. I previously bought and returned a similar clock radio because the lighting either too bright or too dim on its lower setting. That item was priced at $40.00. This is a really good deal if you are in the market.

I liked this radio from the start, but the longer I own it the more I appreciate it. The controls are simple once you understand how they work, although you do need to take the time to read the owner's manual, and the display is clear and easy to read.

It has a number of features that I really like, such as the layout on top of the radio of the switches that operate the radio. From right to left they are the "off" button, the "on" button, and the "sleep" button. If you press the "sleep" button it turns the radio on for a designated time and then turns itself back off so you can listen to music as you go to sleep and not worry about it staying on all night. The buttons are small, but the thing that orients you to which control you're touching is the fact that the off button is concave. Once you find that button the rest is easy. Another detail I appreciate is that if you make use of the "sleep" button and then change your mind and want to turn the radio off, all you have to do is press the big "snooze" bar along the top front and the radio turns off.

Additionally, I really appreciate the fact that this clock sets itself according to the time zone you indicate you're in, then when the semi-annual time changes come around it automatically resets and an indicator light lets you know it's done so.

The volume control and the station finder are not as convenient, neither is the sound the greatest in the world, but it is just a little, inexpensive alarm clock, so I can forgive it for these inadequacies.

The bottom line, quite literally here, is that this item is well worth its price and you really can't go wrong buying it.

Setting the time on this unit is utterly baffling if you do not have a manual. It should be simple to set the time on such a device by looking at the controls. This clock is WAAAY too complicated. It has time zone settings, but you have no idea what these are or how they relate to the set time without a manual. How many seconds do you have to hold a button before it performs the function it is labeled for? Check the manual. Don't have one? Too bad. This machine is a disaster. Set it once when it is new and pray you don't ever have to re-set.

For the price, I can't complain but...

Advertised as an "Automatic Time Set" clock radio, I half way expected...no fully EXPECTED it to automatically keep CORRECT time!

It doesn't.

The telephone co. stopped it's "time" service, so we bought a Sharp portable automatic clock for the office does pick up the correct time from a radio (cell phone?) signal that matches the computer and cell phones auto set clock time.

The Sony is always 1.5 to 2 minutes behind the other three in house references.

It never drifts much farther off than 1-2 minutes and I doubt that the couple of minutes difference in the alarm in the morning will be noticed, but still -- WTF!!

Maybe this is why this thing's so inexpensive?...

Sony says they set the time at the factory. However, the two units that I have show different times, two minutes apart. That's not very accurate, though not critical. It would be nice if the times were the same, so my wife and I would be better coordinated.

This product is nearly perfect: size, appearance, ease of use, factory pre-programmed time, and the lithium battery backup feature. The only change I'd suggest is to allow for a 2nd set of batteries - instead of the AC cord - to power the unit during normal operation.
